Talkward × Lightspeed
AI customer service for Lightspeed eCom
Lightspeed connects the till and the online store. Talkward connects the channels: chat on the site, email, WhatsApp and Instagram in one inbox, AI replies from your knowledge base, always labelled.
Sound familiar? Three moments from everyday life with Lightspeed.
Typical for retailers running a physical store and an online store from one system.
The shop is busy, someone asks online.
The AI answers in the chat while you serve customers. What it should not answer sits in the inbox afterwards with a summary.
“Can I pick this up in store?”
Pickup, opening hours, reservations: standard questions from the knowledge base, answered immediately, in the customer’s language.
Two branches, one inbox.
Each branch is a brand with its own widget and knowledge base; the team sees everything in one place.
Talkward bundles chat, email, WhatsApp and Instagram in one inbox, with AI from your knowledge base and handover to your team. Lightspeed stays as it is.
How the connection worksWidget and channels today, order data via automations.
Talkward does not read orders from Lightspeed. The widget runs via custom code in the eCom back office; email, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook work independently of the store. Zapier and Make offer Lightspeed apps: a new order can trigger a confirmation from Talkward or appear as a field on the conversation. Order questions in the chat are handed to your team by the AI.
Available today: widget and every channel
One script line in the eCom back office under Settings › Web extras (custom code) in the footer. Email, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook do not need Lightspeed at all.
AI from your knowledge base
Shipping, returns, products, opening hours: texts, PDFs or your help page as a source. Every reply labelled, order questions go to the team.
Order data via automations
Lightspeed → Zapier, Make or n8n → Talkward: confirmation by email, order number and status as a field on the conversation, notes. No AI lookups from Lightspeed until the integration exists.
Data in Europe
Storage in ISO/IEC 27001:2022-certified data centres in Nuremberg, separated per merchant. “Europe only” option per brand.

Set up in three steps, today.
Widget and channels do not need a Lightspeed integration. This is how you start now; an automation for order data is added when you want it.
Add the widget
Paste the script line from Talkward in the eCom back office under Settings › Web extras (custom code) in the footer. Done, the chat is there.

Questions about Lightspeed
Question not listed? Write to us at hey@talkward.app.
Is there a ready-made Lightspeed integration for order data?
Not yet. Live chat, email, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook work immediately; the AI answers from your knowledge base and hands order questions to your team. Via Zapier, Make or n8n, Lightspeed can trigger confirmations from Talkward and write fields or notes onto the conversation. Tell us via the form if you need the integration.
How does the chat widget get into Lightspeed?
One script line in the eCom back office under Settings › Web extras (custom code) in the footer. The widget loads only when the customer opens the chat and changes nothing in the design.
What can the AI do without order data?
Everything from your knowledge base: shipping, returns, products, opening hours, in the customer’s language. If someone asks about their order, it hands over to your team with a summary.
Where is my data stored?
Storage in ISO/IEC 27001:2022-certified data centres in Nuremberg, separated per merchant. Translation by DeepL (Cologne), AI by Mistral (Paris). “Europe only” option per brand. Without “Europe only”, Claude generates the AI replies, either in Frankfurt (AWS) or in the US (Anthropic). You receive a data processing agreement listing all sub-processors before the start.
